Today's itinerary will immerse you in the three main indigenous tribal cultures of Hualien, exploring their past survival challenges, cultural traditions, and ways of life. Sakiraya Tribe: Over 100 years ago, the Han Chinese rulers arrived in Hualien, leading to conflicts with the Sakiraya Tribe. In order to avoid being wiped out, they sought refuge with other tribes, leading to their disappearance. It wasn't until less than 20 years ago that they regained recognition and proudly reemerged. Today, you will learn about their story of resurgence. The largest indigenous group is Amis Tribe, They possess over 200 varieties of wild vegetables, flavors seldom experienced in our usual diet. Today, you will have the opportunity to taste various unique wild vegetables For thousands of years Taroko Tribes, they lived in the mountains until they were forced down to the foothills by the Japanese for easier control. Today, you can experience the traditional way of life and hunting skills of the Taroko people
1)Scenic Lookout Area, see the whole Hualien city, and understand the history about the indigenous people, The Portuguese, The Dutch, The Han-chinese, The japaneses , and The Veteran. 2）Sakizaya Tribal village To understand how the Han Chinese troops attempted to genocide the tribe, their way of life, and their journey to resurgence, visit important sites of the tribe, such as historical landmarks and traditional buildings. 3) Amis Tribe Wild green Vegetable Culture Meet with the Amis culture master to purchase some wild green vegetables from the local market.
