Because we will have 2 days to see Stockholm and surrounding areas we will have a great opportunity to cover a lot. The first day we will spend in the City, walking in the Old town, the medieval part of Stockholm. We will take a ferry to the Island of Djurgården. I suggest we visit the Vasa museum where you will find a warship from 1628. We will also visit the open air museum Skansen. The second day will be by car and drive through beautiful Stockholm. Some options outside Stockholm 1. Sigtuna and Uppsala. Sigtuna is the oldest town in Sweden that brings us back to the Viking age. 2. Mariefred, Gripsholm and the cake palace Taxinge. An old village, and two different palaces. 3. Tyresta by & Dalarö, the smallest national park and a village in the archipelago. 4. Drottningholm (palace) and the suburbs in Bromma. A stop at my house to see a Swedish home and have coffee with cakes. Maybe you want to see some other parts of Stockholm? This tour will be all according to your interests and wishes.
Day 1 Options Stockholm Old town, down town Stockholm, Södermalm, Kungsholmen, Djurgården with the museums. Day 2 Options 1. The palace of Drottningholm and the suburb of Spånga and Bromma 2. Sigtuna & Uppsala The picturesque town of Sigtuna from the Viking age along the lake Mälaren. A beautiful small town with buildings mainly from the 18th and 19th century, Uppsala - The old university buildings, the library with the silver bibel, the cathedral, the heart of the Swedish church. Take a walk along the channel in the downtown of Uppsala. 3. Mariefred, Gripsholm and the Taxinge Visit the cake palace for a fika at Taxinge, see the castle Gripsholm, and walk the streets of Mariefred. See the old railway, and train 4. Tyresta by (a national park) and Dalarö In the end of the tour we will discuss the lists I sent you about top attractions/restaurants/bars/coffee and lunch places.
