Since I was a small girl I walked here and listened to my granny about historical ghosts and murders. Later in life I learned the history of the old medieval part of Stockholm. It is one of the biggest and most well preserved in Europe. We will move back in time!

In the Old town I will bring you to my favorite narrow streets. We will visit the old market square, walk by the Royal Palace next to the cathedral and pass the parliament. We will also visit the more modern parts with the dramatical theater and the royal garden. I will tell you about people who lived in Stockholm, from the vikings that sailed past the islands of Stockholm to the busy city of today. If you want to hear dreadful stories about the Stockholms' past with bloodbaths and the darkness you will get that too.

If you get tired and wish for coffee and cakes, a Swedish "fika" I will bring you to one of all the good places.

100 years ago, Södermalm was a poor district with cramped residential buildings for workers. Today, Södermalm is a trendy area with restaurants and shops.

I'll show you lush environments and charming houses from the 1750s. I'll tell about the people who lived here and about their everyday life in both joy and sorrow.

A footbridge leads over to the small island of Riddarholmen, where Riddarholm Church is located. Today, this place is a museum with many Swedish kings buried under it. Also under the church are the remains of a monastery from the 13th century.

On the next island is Gamla Stan, one of the best preserved medieval cities. We'll wander along the narrow cobbled streets with buildings painted in gold. I also want to show you some of Stockholm's most beautiful doors, and the Great Church as well as the royal palace.

The history of Stockholm started in the Old Town, back in the 12th Century. When walking on the cobbled-stoned streets I will tell you all about the little market place that centuries later ended up being the Swedish capital. During the tour you'll see the Nobel Prize Museum, the Royal Palace and the old cathedral from the outside. We'll take ferry to the island of Djurgården, where we will continue our walk and later we will end the tour at the Vasa Museum. The old warrior ship Vasa sank on its maiden journey, in August 1628. In the beginning of the 1960's they brought her up again. It's a beautiful ship. A must place to go to!

I will pick up you from the port or at your accommodation in a private car and we will go to the old city, the place where Stockholm took birth in the early 13th century.
Located at the little island of Stadsholmen, the ancient and narrow cobbled streets give a medieval vibe which is adorned with many souvenir shops, bars, and restaurants. Before leaving, I make sure you won't miss out the cathedral which named as is the mother church in Stockholm and where King Karl XIV Gustav and Queen Silvia, as well as the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and her Prince Daniel, got married.
We will stop by the Mårten Trotzigs Gränd, which is the narrowest street of Stockholm, at Stortorget which is Stockholm's original town square, the parliament building, and the royal palace.
We will dig in a modern version of Swedish meatballs and sample a traditional Swedish Fika.

Starting from our rendezvous bike shop in Kungsholmen close to T-Centralum we will first stop at City Hall to take in the magnificent views, inner courtyard, and architecture. We will continue towards the city center, passing by Gamla Stan; the Old Town, on our way to Riddarholmen to enjoy breathtaking views of the City Hall from another angle as well as look out toward Sodermalm. We will talk about Ridderholmen Church, Birger Jarl, Gustav Vasa, Queen Cristina, the founding of Stockholm, and major historical events.

We will swing back through Old Town, visit the main plaza, great church, and pay a visit to the statue of St George and the Dragon before moving on into the city.
