Paramaribo is the capital and largest city of Suriname, located on the banks of the Suriname River. It has a population of roughly 460. 000 people (almost half of Suriname's population). The historical inner city of Paramaribo (The UNESCO World Heritage Site) is unique for first visitors to explore. In this former Dutch colony of Suriname lives, Europeans, African Americans, Chinese, Indians, Native Americans, Jews, Indonesians. Almost all world religions coexist peacefully in this country and in the capital Paramaribo you will see standing close to each other a synagogue, a mosque and a Hindu temple. We will go through the marketplace for you to discover the colorful races of cultures and exotic fruits plants. The historical buildings and sites as Fort Zeelandia (1667) and the Palm Garden 1730.
