Embark on a heartwarming journey to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, the world's first sanctuary for orphaned elephants. Observe the elephants as they bathe in the Maha Oya River, a daily routine that provides essential care and enjoyment. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is located approximately 100 kilometers northeast of Colombo.
Meet at Gate 1 A, Colombo Port / Airport / Address or Hotel Drive to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. On the way, stop at Cashue Village and any other interesting spots, such as local fruit sellers by the road. Reach the orphanage and enjoy watching elephants (You can feed elephants with fruits for extra pay in the place) Then walk to the river before the elephants go for their bath. Enjoy watching elephants bathing in the river. Visit an Elephant poop paper factory, Gem shop, Spice garden, Tea shop, and souvenir shops. Lunch at a restaurant by the river. Return to Colombo. Back in Colombo, and drop you off at the port or hotel.
