Treasures Of Myeong-Dong Area

This 3. 5-hour tour will cover the most interesting historic sites found right in the middle of old Seoul, often overlooked by expat-residents. We will visit Yeongnak Presbyterian Church, center of North Korean Christianity and one of the world's largest congregations. Then we will visit Myeong-dong Catholic Cathedral, learning about its architecture and 115 years of history. Walking through the busy Myeong-dong streets, famous for fashion-shopping; we'll pass the historic Theater and UNESCO Building, and hear their tales, and what they offer. The old site of the Chinese Embassy, Seoul's "chinatown" will be viewed, with more storytelling. Crossing to the grand 1930 Bank of Korea Building, we'll take a brief look at the most interesting items in its Currency & Coin Museum. Strolling further up a surprisingly-pleasant back-alley up to Westin Chosun Hotel, we will view its 1897 Temple of Heaven while hearing an extensive historical explanation.
