Come to know George City, its history, culture and breathtaking landscapes

A half day tour with a walk in the city to the museum where George was established since (1810) and named after King George 111 of England. Dutch East India Company since (1776) built an outpost for the provision of timber, the location is near to the western end of York Street. The timber was used in the building, transportation and furniture industries. George is very safe for tourist as the people are very friendly and helpful, and a walk about gets you to meet with these cultures - giving a more in depth knowledge and perspective of the city and surrounds. On offer is the Old Car Show, Strawberry Festival and the George Tens Rugby at the sports grounds. Drive down to Victoria Bay for a fun day of surfing and swimming in the bay. The museum started by Paul Sayers in (1967)) is a cultural history museum that preserves it's history with special focus on the timber industry and it's work shops close by and an art collection on how as well. Khora Gom Project promotes the indigenous Khoekhengowa language.
