Overview of your Cape Town tour:

Known locally as the Mother City, Cape Town is the birthplace of much of what exists in modern day South Africa. With almost 400 years of history, let me share the key moments where this country was shaped, as we follow a circular route through the city. I'll unveil how the building of the first mosque resulted in freedom of religion and show you the exact spot where Nelson Mandela addressed the nation as a free man, accomplishing freedom of speech. We'll visit Bo Kaap, the neighbourhood of brightly painted houses, and open spaces within the city like the Company's Garden. We'll also taste local cuisine known as Cape Malay! We'll walk the parliamentary precinct too, where various discriminatory laws where repealed, and I'll discuss the history of St. George's Cathedral and District Six, a site of forced removal. Having grown up in a system of apartheid, being able to share the before & after stories excites me. Share this excitement with me and take this Cape Town tour through a historic narrative.
