We will be visiting Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl, considered by locals as the heart of the Cape Winelands. Stellenbosch is the second oldest town in South Africa and has a deeply embedded Dutch history and culture. The oldest road called Dorp Street is lined out with old historical building which resembles the different eras of occupation by the Dutch and the English. Franschhoek on the other hand has a more of a French historic background and dates back to the late 1600 when close to 27 French Huguenots was established by the Dutch to plant grapes and to produce some good wines. Today it is seen as the Food and Wine capital of South Africa. Paarl again is the third oldest town in South Africa and is seen today as the new millionaires mile, where some of South Africa's top sporting heroes and celeberaties established themselves on the polo and golf estates. With plenty of wine to choose and spectacular scenery you are spoiled for choice.
08h30 - Pickup from your accomodation in Cape Town and travel via the N2 for the first wine estate, Neethlingshof Estate. Here we will be doing our first tasting and get to visit the cellar. 10h30 - Depart for the inner city of Stellenbosch and visit "Oom Samie se Winkel" and Church Street were you will have a 30 - 45 min walk of the buzzling Church Street and have an opportunity to buy something memorable. 11h30 - Our second wine tasting will be at Camberlea in Banhoek Valley. This is a very small production farm, so our visit will be very intimate. 12h30 - Lunch at Le Petite Ferme or Roca Restaurant one of the top restaurants with spectacular views over the Franschhoek valley 15h00 - We depart Franschhoek in the direction of Paarl and stop at the Nelson Mandela Monument for a picture moment. It is at this prison that Nelson Mandela was release from in Feb1990. 15h30 - Last stop is at Fairview Winery for combination of cheese and wine tasting, perfect to end the day. 17h30 - Drop off in Cape Town
