I was 11 years old on June of 1991, when an announcement in front of Parliament was made: "This evening dreams are allowed, tomorrow is a new day". One country ceased to exist, as we knew it until then and a new country was born. I was more or less unaware of the situation, but I can remember worried faces of my family, especially the one of my grandmother. After 10 day war, my hometown became capital of newly formed state Slovenia and in those 30 years, it has transformed from political, cultural, economical and educational centre of Slovenes, also into popular tourist destination. I will introduce you my town through eyes of a local and we will together discover different architectural styles like Art Nouveau, Baroque and Classical style with "modern" influence in "new" town with Yugoslav socialist realistic architecture built in Yugoslav times. On the walk you will also experience and feel "local beat" from bars&restaurants where locals enjoy their free time with a cup of coffee or beer.
