Express Ljubljana Traditional Food Tour

Ljubljana did recently some very big steps on the culinary scene so I am glad you are considering about having a food tour in my hometown. On this tour we will discover typical Slovenian dishes and try only those which are protected by its geographical indication on the European level. In practise that means that these dishes can be produced in certain regions of Slovenia only and nowhere else in the world. One of dishes we will try is so called the "layer cake". It consists of layers of poppy seeds, walnut and apple filling, cinnamon, and cottage cheese. It has a mild sweetness, but it is still not too sweet because of cottage cheese. It reminds you of apple strudel, it smells on Christmas because of the cinnamon, but it tastes as something you have probably never tasted before.
