Pearls of Hungarian secession in Serbia: full-day trip from Belgrade

In one exciting day I've packed everything needed for admiring great architecture and enjoying the spirit of old times. You will explore several finest examples of Hungarian secession architecture style in this part of Europe, starting with Subotica and ending in Palić.

First stop is Subotica where I'll take you to the mansion of Ferenz Raichl, on a tour of the City Hall, then you'll see the fountains made from Zsolnay ceramics and at the end the Synagogue.

Further I'll take you to Palić, a nearby village with a lake. This posh village is known for two famous architects from Budapest, Marcell Komor and Dezso Jakab who designed the whole central area of Great Park with its highlights: Water tower, Grand terrace, Women's lido and Memorial well.

After the visits and sightseeing, I'll take you to a local place for lunch and if you fancy wine, to a local premium winery for a wine tasting.

Viminacium and Smederevo fortress, full-day trip from Belgrade

If you find ancient and fortified cities appealing, then I have two of them for you, not too far from Belgrade. In just one day you can experience the medieval capital of Serbia, Smederevo and ancient Roman city, Viminacium. Both of them reflect significant periods of history, Smederevo as the last capital of Serbia before final fall into Ottoman's hands and Viminacium as the capital of Roman province Upper Mesia which consisted of significant parts of today's Serbia, Bulgaria and Macedonia.

I'll take you first to Viminacium. It's an archaeological site in the open, where you'll see how one Roman capital used to look. The site is very well presented with a very diverse offer. And you'll also get to visit a unique mammoth park.

From the ancient period I'll take you back to the future, to 1439 and medieval Serbia when Smederevo fortress was completed. The fortress is considered to be one of the biggest medieval fortresses in Europe. Here I'll explain everything about its history and importance.
