The Teuton knights' Bran Castle received later the role of Dracula's castle and will be our first stop in the early hours. It is one of the most visited places in Romania and you definitely need to check it out (with or without the garlic in your pockets) ! Viscri traditional village is a piece of history and a UNESCO Heritage site that will take you back in time. The fortified church from the top of the hill is definetly worth a visit. You can imagine how gorgeous are these places if even King Charles the IIIrd bought houses there. The house where Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) is said to have been born is found in Sighisoara. We'll see how much is true or false. The only inhabited medieval fortress in Europe has its charm and narrow streets that will definitely take you back in time. Brasov City Center has a proper medieval feel with its surroundings and is also a gem in the Transylvanian landscape all year round. ATTENTION! Mondays only the Bran Castle is opened after 12:00, so the order will change.
We depart at 06:00 AM from the hotel. - Around 09:00 AM the Bran Castle will welcome us and we will wonder through its many rooms and narrow staircases. - After Bran we will head up North towards the Viscri traditional village with its unpaved streets, a hidden treasure in Transylvania where even King Charles the IIIrd bought some houses to relax here during the Summer. - Next stop is Sighisoara, the birthplace of Dracula, where we can see the house where he was born and eat lunch. The church on the hill, the clocktower and every little street will enchant our eyes. - Last on our list will be Brasov City's medieval center, another marvelous place to wonder around and, if we're too tired from the road we can do it even from the car. My advice is to stop at least in the Council Square to feel the old roaming city. BONUS: quick stop to see the exterior of the Peles Castle at night or around Snagov Monastery (presumed burial place of Vlad the Impaler). ;) We'll get back at around 10:30 PM
