The One with the Salsa Lesson

We will meet at Parque de la Hoare where the tour will begin. The tour will take you through two areas of what used to be San Mateo de Cangrejos. First, walking through the streets of Trastalleres where Santurce es Ley, the mural festival has taken place for over ten years. While exploring the murals, you will learn about the great importance of communities like this one. During this time, we will make our way up to what is today known as Miramar, where you will see the immense contrast in terms of architecture and feel. At the end of our walking tour, aka the warm-up... I will take you to a place where I once called home. Still do most times. This dance academy has been a refuge to hundreds of students and teachers alike. A place that is a pinnacle in our culture, looking to preserve this intangible cultural heritage, which includes not only our traditional dances and ballroom but also museum objects collected over the decades and defended fiercely.
