Silves is a historical city in Algarve's inland, known for the sweet and juicy oranges as well as the reddish-stone in which its castle and cathedral were built! Besides offering a rich history in the town itself, Portugal in general has a lot to offer in terms of gastronomy, hence this tour! So you can experience local cuisine in a unique and authentic way.
- Meeting at the 'Cross of Portugal' (pictured) - Walking up to the castle through the winding streets - Visit of the Castle and tasting of local products: dried figs with cheese, 'muxama' (dried tuna) and a drink. And a slice of orange pie to finish! - Walking downhill passing the cathedral (outside visit), Mercy church, medieval city walls and town hall - Visit to the market (in case it's still open).
