In this tour we will visit the city of Lagos, where I live. One of the oldest in the region. The small streets of the historic center are full of life, ideal place for a strolling around.

The church of Santa Maria faces the statue of Prince Henry The Navigator and across the square we can also visit the ancient slave market. We will visit Ponta da Piedade, the place with the famous grottoes and amazing cliffs. We will enjoy an amazing view there and learn about the history behind this places.

We will visit Sagres, a historic village where Prince Henry the Navigator built it the Navigation School in the XV Century. Stunning views, huge cliffs. After the Fortress we will visit Cape Saint Vincent, the most southwestern point in Europe. This is a mythical place, was called The End of The World until XV century, before the Portuguese started the Discoveries.

A town by the Arade river, close to Praia da Rocha, one of the most famous beached of the Algarve, come with me and discover Portimão! For this tour, you will be guided by one of the best bird-guides in the Algarve (and the only one fluent in French).

Portimão is the main city of the western Algarve and used to be one of the main fishing harbour for sardines. The museum is actually located in an old factory which used to can sardines. Besides being an important fishing and cruise harbour, Portimão is famous for its narrow streets and its animated marina.

One side of the town is bordered by the Arade river going to Silves to the north. It was used by the vickings to invade the area.

Faro's city center has plenty of sites to see and monuments to visit, as well as picturesque spots. Get to know a town that is often overlooked by visitors!

Inside the city walls, we see Faro as if it were medieval times. Narrow streets that end in a big square in front of the cathedral. The cathedral is filled with (mostly) 18th-century decorative arts (the very famous azulejos or glazed tiles, and guilt woodwork). We will also take time to enjoy the view from the cathedral's belfry.

The city walls themselves also hide different treasures from times passed that we will look for on our way to another highlight of the city: Carmo church.
