This area is used by locals for picnics and walks in nature and also for concerts sometimes. This park is by the Arade river. We will walk around the area, at a slow pace. In spring, several species of orchids can be seen and many butterflies and dragonflies later in the season.

The park is close to an area of ricefields where we can see hundreds of Ibis, storks, herons and sometimes birds of prey like the osprey, Marsh Harrier or Short-toed Eagle. With luck it is possible to see an Otter or Moongoose around the ricefields.

Let me share with you the smells, feelings, landscape of this amazing area just outside of Portimão. The biodiversity in this area is truly amazing and I am looking forward to share it with you and share my passion for nature!

Easy to come across with a fisherman, which I did as you see on this pictures, and stop to talk to him. Eventually he will sell that fish to a particular restaurant and I gladly call the owner to prepare it for you. I've contacts of the local restaurants and while you're on the boat, when you want to make the half day tour into a couple of extra hours more, they will be preparing food for you.
