On this 5-hour tour, you'll discover Lisbon's culinary delights and learn more about "azulejos", the famous Portuguese tiles. You will have the opportunity to paint your own tile and explore the old neighborhoods of Alfama and Mouraria, learning a little about the city's history and culture and tasting delicious portuguese gourmet food. Portugal's azulejos or tiles seem to be everywhere you look across Lisbon, covering whole buildings, decorating palaces and churches. This tour gives you the opportunity to take home a unique souvenir: a tile painted by you. Another highlight of this tour is the traditional yellow tram ride to Portas do Sol viewpoint. While walking in Lisbon old neighborhoods, you will learn about its history and experience our unique food from tascas (local taverns), where everything is freshly made. The word petiscos comes from the verb petiscar, which means savoring and eating small meals, usually best shared with friends! Let's go out and enjoy the snacks and wine like the locals!
• After tasting the famous "pastel de nata" with an espresso, we will take the traditional yellow tram to the Portas do Sol viewpoint, which will provide us with a fantastic photo opportunity. • After a short walk in the old neigbhorhood of Alfama, we will join a local artist in a special tile shop. After learning the basics of this art, she will assist and walk you through the process of painting your own tile, which will be baked later and sent to your hotel in Lisbon, or back home if your prefer (cost of shipping not included). • On the way to your next food and wine tasting, you'll discover some of the most impressive tile artwork on the facades of Alfama's buildings. On the way to Mouraria we will visit the Church of Saint Anthony. • After crossing the Mouraria neighbourhood, we'll end our tour at Casa do Alentejo, located in a 17th-century palace, where you'll taste delicious Alentejo gastronomy.
