I had the joy of growing up in the beautiful and wild Silver Coast (north of Lisbon) and sharing my roots and knowledge with you feels like a true privilege. Our adventure begins at Alcobaça (optional), notable for its Cistercian monastery founded in 1152 and home to the most famous Convent Sweets in Portugal. You'll discover the King Pedro and Queen Inês tombs, considered amongst the most beautiful Gothic sculptured sarcophagi. They reflect a tragic love story with betrayal, murder, and undying devotion. Next, we’ll head to Nazaré, the iconic Portuguese fishing town renowned for its colossal surfing waves. As a surfer with over 30 years of experience, I can’t wait to share insider stories and insights about this world-class big-wave surf spot. After a delightful lunch, our journey culminates in the romantic, medieval town of Óbidos. Stroll with me along its charming cobbled streets, where vibrant Bougainvillea drapes the historic houses, leading us to a majestic 13th-century castle.
- We’ll be departing from Lisbon, taking the highway for a 90-minute to Nazaré - Along the way, we'll stop (optional) in Alcobaça to visit the XII-century Gothic church and the King Pedro and Queen Inês tombs. You'll have free time to explore the town square and indulge in the local Convent Sweets - Next, we’ll drive for 20 minutes to Nazaré. - We’ll stop at Sítio da Nazaré where you'll admire the magnificent view over the cliff and learn about the history and traditions of this iconic fishing town. - We’ll visit São Miguel Arcanjo Fortress to see the big wave surfboard exhibit. From there, we’ll enjoy the view of Praia do Norte, the famous big wave surf spot. - We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant. - We’ll then drive 30 minutes to Óbidos, stopping at some local hidden gems. - After a walking tour in Óbidos, you will have free time to explore this medieval village. - Finally, we’ll return to Lisbon. Note: *Please remember that we can always customize the tour and adjust it to your preferences.
