Evora Full day tour from Lisbon

One of Portugal's main cultural tourism destinations, Évora is an ancient city classified as a World Heritage Site since 1986. Named "Ebora Liberalitas Julia" by the Romans, it is famous for having one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the Iberian Peninsula and a chapel covered with thousands of human skulls and bones. The best way to see the city is on foot, walking through its narrow streets lined with white houses; its medieval streets will give you an idea of what Lisbon looked like before its destruction by the Great Earthquake of 1755. In the morning we will visit the historic center, St. Francis Church and the Chapel of Bones, Giraldo Square, the Roman temple and a medieval cathedral. After lunch, we will learn a bit more about cork production in a cork workshop and visit a local family organic farm, where you will savor prickly pear juice, olive oil and organic vinegar on crispy Alentejo bread, toasts with honey and prickly pear jam, with a selected organic wine to intensify the flavours.
