The Tejo Wine Region is one of the oldest wine-producing regions. Experience all the charms of the Tejo Wine Route. Taste our wines. Indulge in our delicious cuisine. Enjoy landscapes made of greenery and water. Escaroupim is a typical fishing village, formed by fishermen, who came to the Tagus every season to fish in the winter, returning to Praia da Vieira (a beach on the west coast of Portugal) in the summer. In these villages, the houses are made of wood, painted in bright colours and supported by stilts, so as to be protected from the frequent floods. In the Avieira village of Escaroupim you can enjoy boat trips on the Tagus River, bird watching, picnic area, panoramic restaurant and natural viewpoint over the Tagus River. Casa dos Patudos is a notable museum located in Alpiarça. The building was originally a private residence owned by José Relvas, a prominent figure in Portuguese politics and photography during the late 19th century.

It houses an impressive collection of paintings, particularly works from the 19th and early 20th centuries, including pieces by various Portuguese artists.
