The West tour takes you to the lush northwest of Madeira, full of cliffs, valleys, forests, mountains, waterfalls and cows! This Jeep tour covers the west coast, starting in Campanário, situated in the south coast of the Island. So many experiences, in just one day: Ancient roads, Levada walk, Fanal Forest, Swimming and Incredible landscapes. This tour is almost like a roller coaster. It will take you from southwest coastline to the top middle of the island (1500m) and then go down again to the northwest coastline. Our main destination, Porto Moniz, is famous for its incredible lava pools. Regardless, in our way there we will cover many other attractions which you wouldn't really find on advertised brochures. Always away from the typical "tourist routes"
- During morning we explore the south western coastline around the areas of Câmpanário, Ribeira Brava, Tabua, Lugar de Baixo and the picturesque village of Ponta do Sol, enjoying the amazing southwestern cliffs - After coffee, we start “climbing” almost from sea level to 1500m, up the old roads to one of the west tour’s main attraction, the plateau, Paul da Serra - Levada walk - 30 minutes - Less touristy - Walk at Fanal Forest with its ancient trees, an idyllic place that must be visited - Ribeira da Janela - Amazing viewpoint, old roads and waterfalls - Porto Moniz - Lunch stop and swim in the famous vulcanic swimming pools - After lunch in a family-owned restaurant with a varied menu... we make our way back to Funchal driving along the wild North Coast Villages - Ribeira da Janela, Seixal Beach & São Vicente - and amazing waterfalls - If we have time we will visit Cabo Girão - Sky walk This tour is highly flexible and can be tailored to your needs.
