Full day Warsaw city tour

In the Warsaw ghetto, divided into 2 sections (the Small Ghetto at the southern end and the Large Ghetto on the north), 450, 000 Jews were forced to live in very crowded conditions. By the time deportations to the extermination camps began, about 100, 000 residents of the Ghetto had died of starvation or disease.

After the 1943 Uprising, the ruins of the Ghetto were leveled, and a new residential district was built right on top of them, making the new buildings one level higher than the pre-war buildings had been.

ROUTE: ghetto area (remains of ghetto walls, synagogue, monuments and historical sites), Jewish cemetery, Jewish Historical Institute (exhibition about the Warsaw Ghetto Archives - optional).

The Warsaw Jewish ghetto half day tour

Warsaw is my place on Earth, so whether I want it or not, I show it to guests my way.

We cannot miss all the most important sights which are visited by the tourists. But on this tour, I will also take you to places which I like most in the city. We will go to the right bank of the river, which was not demolished during World War 2 and still keeps the spirit of the pre-war city. I will also take you to the district where I live, which is called Wola. It used to be an industrial part of the city. Right now it changes into a modern city area with the skyscrapers. Over there it is easy to catch old and modern on one photo which makes this place really unique. As this area changes so quickly my Mum sometimes says that she is afraid to go for shopping, because she is not sure if she finds the way back home. But don't worry, I will not lose my way.

You will also have a chance to taste a real Warsaw foodie (not included in the tour price). Nothing posh, not a tourist place, but always full of locals.

After visiting Lazienki park, where you can admire palaces and pavilions, then driving along Royal Route, walking in the Old Town - a site on the UNESCO cultural heritage list, seeing the houses where M-me Curie was born and where Chopin lived, we will stop in one of Old Town small cafés for lunch where you can savor Polish typical food, then visit Royal Castle, which although rebuilt in '70s, shows a lot of miraculously saved original paintings, furniture and objects of art. This is where Polish kings lived, where sessions of Parliament took place, and where now you can see Rembrandt's paintings and other precious masterpieces.

Royal Castle is the essence of Polish spirit and the history - raised from ashes, with the effort of all Poles living in Poland and abroad, shows great attachment to sometimes tragic, but OUR history, which is worth to be cherished and remembered.
