Kazimierz and Podgórze are both districts which been in past independents cities and are connecting with Jewish history in Kraków. Kazimierz being a place of coexistence of cultures Jewish and Christian have a very special atmosphere. Kazimierz was an independent city since the 14th to 18th century and until the 19th century, was located on the island. Podgórze founded by the Austrians was an independent city since the end of the 18th to beginning of the 20th century.
