After over two decades of my experience of being a tour guide in Poland it never ceases to
amaze me that some historical sites not only need to be visited many times, but they need to be shared with others. My master's degree in history equipped me with a unique perspective that I am very happy to share with you upon your visit to Poland.

My most memorable experience as a guide is taking visitors to Auschwitz. One can never feel at ease visiting one the most tragic sites, which served as a factory of death. Knowing stories about significant places might make one more knowledgeable about them but sharing them with visitors always puts adds a new perspective on experiencing them, and thereby humanizes them.

Over the years I had the privilege of meeting and many notable individuals including Eva Kor, who was subjected to Josef Mengele's experiments at Auschwitz.

The museum combines the area of KL Auschwitz (Auschwitz I) in Oświęcim and the Birkenau camp (Auschwitz II) in Brzezinka. Approximately 150 buildings, 300 ruins fences, towers, roads and railway ramps have been preserved.

In order to take in the grounds and exhibitions in a suitable way, visitors should set aside a minimum of about 90 minutes for the Auschwitz site and the same amount of time for Auschwitz II-Birkenau. It is essential to visit both parts of the camp, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, in order to acquire a proper sense of the place that has become the symbol of the Holocaust as well as Nazi crimes against Jews, Poles, Romas and other groups.

This event in world history changed it. Personally, I believe that it is an experience that every person in the world should have: to hear and see what happened during the 2nd World War in Polan. On the way to the camp complex, I will make an appropriate commentary in the context of Polish culture and history, which will help to look at the event from a humanistic perspective.

One of my passions is the history of Poland. It concerns the history of World War II as well as the history and culture of Jews in Poland.
