H/D Peruvian Gold Museum & Weapons of the World Collection

This museum was founded in 1968 by the businessman, historian and diplomat Miguel Mujica Gallo and is considered nowadays the 2nd. most important Gold Museum in the Americas It's divided into two levels, down in the basement you'll find on display more than 8, 000 pieces which belonged to different Peruvian pre-Incan civilizations that flourished mainly on the northern coast of the country such as the Mochica and Lambayaque cultures. You'll admire pieces of jewelry like crowns, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and nose pieces that were worn by former Peruvian nobles during rituals and ceremonies to please their principal Gods, the Sun and Moon. We are also going to visit the so-called "Mummies Hall" where are found 04 mummies mainly from the northern and southern coast buried in different positions as well as the world famous Paracas elongated skulls which was a practiise to demostrate their high status as nobles.
