I will tell you the history of Oslo leading all way back to the Viking period. You will also get an introduction of how we live today. We start outside the beautiful decorated City Hall of Oslo, where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented every year the 10th of December. From the harbour side we have a nice view of the Oslo fjord and to the old fortress and castle Akershus built in1299. We Continue up to the old renaissance city Christiania where we can see remaining buildings from the year 1600. After we head down to the seaside to Bjørvika, where we find the newest part of the city. Here we can enjoy great modern architecture as the new library, the opera house, the new Munch gallery among a lot of modern residences by the fjord. After we have been to the newest part of the city, we walk over to the main street Karl Johan. We will see Oslo's beautiful Cathedral from 1697. We will take a closer look at the Parliament, the National Theatre, the University and the Royal Palace.
You will be able to see most of the signature buildings in Oslo on this tour such as: Akershus fortrest walk on the fortress and see the castle from outside We will pass by Munch museum Operahouse New library The Cathedral Parliament National Theatre The Old Oslo University Royal Palace City hall This is a walking tour, so remember suitable shoes, and of course to bring your camera!
