Historic river walk

I hope you will join me on this lovely walking tour of 6 km along the Aker river in Oslo. We take the metro from city center to Nydalen (15 min. ) and walk back to the city center on a wide path free of cars. On our way we can enjoy the scenic surroundings along the river, all the parks, beautiful bridges, spectacular waterfalls and old factories from mid-1800s. They are well preserved and transformed into new industry as restaurants, art galleries, schools and offices. In summertime we can listen to almost one hundred different kinds of birds as we are strolling down by the river. On our way I will tell you how the river had a unique position in Oslo's history from the Medieval, and up to modern time. It might be nice to have a coffee break on our way, with a waffle or a sandwich, for example at the Food Hall, which we will pass on our rout. At the end of the tour, we can see the river flows into the Oslofjord. Remember to bring you camera and good walking shoes.
