We start with a sightseeing car drive through the historical centre of Amsterdam, with its unique architecture, beautiful canals and countless bridges. Whenever you want, we park the car and go for a nice stroll!

A visit to one of Amsterdam's museums (eg. Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, Anne Frank) is optional.

From Amsterdam, we follow a scenic countryside road to visit the historical towns Marken, De Rijp and Edam (famous for it's cheese). A car drive through the Beemster and Schermer polder (reclaimed land) including a visit inside a 400 year old windmill is also on the program!

Next, we drive to the old city of Haarlem. We will visit the famous Grote Markt square (with the impressive St. Bavo Church), see many beautiful monumental buildings and walk through charming old shopping streets. If you wish we can visit the Frans Hals or the Teylers Museum.

From Haarlem we follow a countryside road back to Amsterdam with a brief stop at pittoresque Spaarndam (Remember "Hans Brinker, or the silver skates"?!)

This daytour can also be combined with a visit to the Keukenhof Flower Gardens: open from March 23 till May 14 2023.

My tour gives in the first place a wide orientation on the city of Amsterdam.
It show the places that most travellers do not come! We'll avoid the crowds!
We will see the seventeenth century canal belt area, the medieval city, RijksMuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Hermitage Amsterdam, Anne Frank House and more WW2 history.
The tour is a combination of driving by van and making short walks.
My small group tours are an ideal way to escape the large group tours and explore the Dutch countryside in a more intimate way. We will visit small, picturesque villages North of Amsterdam where the big busses are not even allowed to drive.
Edam, Broek in Waterland, Monnickendam and Marken are always delightful and authentic.

What makes this tour different? In this tour, you will not visit the crowded touristy places. If you want to see the real Dutch countryside, then this is the tour you should do. I will only show you villages where the locals still welcome you with a smile and a greeting.

The village Broek is just a stone's throw away from Amsterdam but what a difference! Marken is a former island in the Southersea where most of the houses are built from wood. The village De Rijp has beautifully restored 17th century houses, all bear witness to the style and glory of the past steeped in a long tradition of whaling fleets and herring fishing.

The Beemster polder is an absolute miracle. The draining of this lake in 1612 is a shining example of how the Dutch "created" large areas of their country.

In Schermerhorn we will visit a windmill from 1632! (not open on Mondays)

If you want, we can visit a cheesefarm/ woodenshoe maker near Monnickendam.

Zaanse Schans is an open air museum and preservation area full of traditional architecture, Dutch handicrafts and culture. By the banks of the Zaan River we ll see 17th, 18th, 19th century windmills, charming wooden houses and a number of workshops and museums. I will tell you all about the history and purposes of the mills, and the role of the water in the financial and living development. We ll visit a functioning windmill where you can view the whole area and the iconic Dutch landscape, a great spot for impressive photos! We cannot skip a visit to a cheese shop and see skilled artisans making the traditional wooden clogs. We ll have the time for a little break for coffee, refreshments and souvenir shopping. The tour will end with our return to the Hotel.

After visiting Keukenhof Gardens we take the back roads to see the most mesmerizing tulip fields. I know pitstops where you can pose with the tulips to snap a selfie, or try to capture the colorful panorama of tulip fields.

The Delft, Rotterdam & The Hague Tour starts in Amsterdam, where you'll travel by car to Delft.

In this beautiful medieval town, you will visit one of the last remaining Delftware factories, famous for their blue-and-white ceramics. After Delft you visit Rotterdam to make a stroll through the old harbor district and make a one hour harbor cruise.

After Rotterdam you are heading to The Hague, where you will see the city center, the Binnenhof (the world's oldest House of Parliament that is still in use to this day!). You will then see Noordeinde Palace and walk in the garden, where the Dutch King works.

From The Hague we return back to Amsterdam by car.
