Our tour will take you to the Afsluitdijk, a marvel of engineering that was constructed in the 1930s as part of a plan to protect the Zuiderzee area from devastating floods. We will make a brief stop at the fisherman's haven of Den Oever, where we will park the car and set out to explore the harbour on foot. Our next stop after visiting the Afsluitdijk is the historic town of Schermerhorn, where we will marvel at one of the oldest water pumping windmills. I will share with you fascinating insights into the role of windmills in shaping the landscape of Holland during the 17th century. After exploring the historical significance of windmills, we will continue our journey to the quaint villages of De Rijp and Graft. Finally, we will make our way to the picturesque city of Edam, renowned for its world-famous cheese. Get ready for an unforgettable experience!
