From the 17th century the United Dutch East India Company (VOC) had a monopoly position on the 'trade' in spices: hear stories about the VOC, the former harbor city, and how the 'trade' made Amsterdam one of the richest cities in the world in the 17th century. Nowadays Amsterdam has the biggest cacao harbor in the world. During the chocolate tasting you'll hear all about Amsterdam and cacao, the old city center and changes taking place in the former Red Light. Our chocolate & spice shop is located at the oldest canal of Amsterdam, in the former harbor area. We are specialized in Single Origin and Direct Trade. Let me amaze you with the real and pure tastes of our single origin chocolates. From single origin chocolate from Congo to Ecuador, the Philippines to Jamaica: make a small journey around the world! In our 'chocolate lab' we make our homemade bonbons. Ofcourse I love to let you taste some of my home made chocolates.
