Yangon is known as Rangoon. It has a personality that is unique, incredible, rich histories, a melting pot of cultures, and used to be main seaport of Myanmar in the colonial period. Yangon sits under the shadow of the most holiest Shwedagon Pagoda. Yangon has retained much of its architectural history of beautiful colonial buildings in the downtown area, including Shwedagon pagoda and tons of monasteries, city's numerous lush tropical gardens and stunning lakes for great recreation, bustling markets and much more! Yangon used to be the Capital of Myanmar though it turned into a commercial city now. Although the city has seen a lot of development in recent years, it is still retaining an innocence that so many other Asian cities has lost. You can walk around at any time of the day or night anywhere in the city and still assure to get the sense of feeling safe. You have a lot to enjoy and explore to get a taste of Yangon such as attractions, foods and much more!
You'll begin your culinary holiday in Myanmar with a local teashop around Shwedagon Pagoda by taxi. We sample Monhingha and tea. We'll observe the daily life of monk after wandering around Market where you will have a chance to try local glutinious rice with sesame. We'll walk up to the Shwedagon Pagoda. Find time to have a fun conversation with astrologer at the pagoda and learn buddhism at the pagoda. By then, we walk down to the park and transfer you to shan noodle shop for lunch. Enjoy the shan noodles there. Afterwards, time to stretch our legs to explore colonial buildings areas in downtown. We'll then move to local restaurant on foot and try indian influenced snacks. After filling up on these scrumptious snacks, we'll hop on the trishaw for one final stop, Chinatown. We'll take a route through the lively night market, then head to 19th street, which is renowned for its barbecue stalls. We enjoy the Myanmar beer and barbecue before we transfer you back by taxi.
