Full Day Maputo National Park Tour

The Maputo National Park, is located in the extreme south of Mozambique, about 2h30 from the center of Maputo and the city's airport. Flanked by the Indian Ocean and Maputo Bay, this conservation area of more than 77, 000 hectares includes extensive and impressive African fauna, with about 250 elephants as its inhabitants, as well as hippos and crocodiles in the lagoons, and also giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, impalas and wildebeests along its length. It is also possible to find more than 350 species of birds in the Park. The Park was created in 1932, precisely in order to protect the elephant population that lived in the area. Since 2010 other animals have been repopulated here, from South Africa, making this reserve an ideal place to admire these majestic animals and do birdwatching. I have been guiding in this park for more than 5 years and seeing the growth in animals and conservation work impacting in changing the lives of the locals who lives around the park is something special.
