Visit the most important archaeological site in Oaxaca, Monte Albán, located in the majestic urban center, site which is the ancient capital of the Zapotecos and one of the first cities in Mesoamerica. This area was known as the religious, political, and economic center of the Zapotec civilization. Walk around the square and explore the Site Museum. Don't forget to bring your camera to take pictures from the top of the archaeological structures.

Then we'll delve into the traditional markets, such as the Mercado Benito Juárez, visit to the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán with a stroll through to the "zocalo" or main city square. Take a sightseeing tour of the city's main square, Government Palace, cathedral, and more.

The tour begins with the pick-up at your hotel or Airbnb. The time of the pick up is at 9:00 am on clean recent transportation, we will travel 30 minutes West of the city to the Archeological site of Monte Alban which is located 10km from the city, at an elevation of 2, 000 meters above sea level. Once arriving at the site we will walk about 5 minutes to purchase tickets, then visit the site for about 3 hours, including the museum where a little of the original artifacts of the site are exhibit.

After an amazing visit in Monte Alban, we will travel south of the city for about 45 minutes to see a family workshop in San Bartolo, Coyotepec, in order to see the elaboration of the black pottery, a well-known village. We will remain there for 45 minutes.
