Discover the beauty of Oaxaca with a visit to the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán one of the most beautiful examples of Baroque architecture. Continue on foot to one of the main streets in the city of Oaxaca. Our walking tour then continues around the cobbled streets of Oaxaca, until we arrive at the zólaco, the main square in the city. Here you can find museums, artisanal shops and restaurants typical to the city.

Then we'll delve into the traditional markets, such as the Mercado Benito Juárez, where you can find a wide variety of black clay items, or the well-known 'alebrijes', colourful fantasy figurines which have their origin in this region.
Sample local products including Mole Oaxaqueño, Tlayudas, Mezcal, Chocolate, Quesillo, and Chapulines in the 20 de Noviembre Market. Then pass through the main meat aisle where you will not be able to leave without tasting some of Oaxaca's delicious cuisine.

Oaxaca has one of the richest and most interesting history in all of Mexico. With sixteen different ethnic languages and groups.
Its valleys contain around 4, 000 archeological sites. Many of these sites which are open to the public are located less than an hours travel from the center of the city and very accessible. Many of these archeological sites are not included in the cities tours.

The city and state of Oaxaca is also home to many temples of the Dominican order all of which were built in the XVI and XVII centuries, constructed, decorated and painted by indigenous hands.
All of these temples have suffered major destruction, repair and reconstruction through the centuries due to the multiple earthquakes that affect the area. They are home to some of the most spectacular and breath taking display of the baroque style of Mexico from the Colonization era.

After this we will conmute to Arrazola a town full of magic expressed by its artisans in the way of fantastical animals carved out of wood and painted by hand in lively psychdellic colours, we will have a private class at an artisan workshop and we will learn to paint our own zapotec spirit animal. At the end of the tour we will visit a very small artisan owned distillery where they preserve the ancestral way of making mezcal, we will learn about the agaves, the process of distillation and we will enjoy a private tasting.

Weaving Workshop in Tlacolula Valley, Experience natural fibers and dyeing

Going towards the Tlacolula Valley; We'll visit one of the first settlements in Oaxaca State named Teotitlan del Valle, a native Zapotec speaking community distinguished by its incomparable artisanal production of wool rugs and tapestries recognized worldwide because of their originality and high manufacturing quality, will visit and interact with master weaver and dyer workshop where will get all the information about the process for which wool goes through to make a rug or tapestry, within the process will see and learn about carding, spinning, natural dyeing and weaving.

Workshop given by master weaver and dyer that will explain step by step how to work on a 2 pedal loom, and the basic bases about how to make ancestral sacred geometric designs, the Guelaguetza is always involved when interacting with the community and family, so We'll share and celebrate with endemic dish for lunch then walk into Teotitlan Cultural Center and 16th Century temple to learn more about the community customs and habits.

Our next stop will be the very beautiful, old Barrio de Jalatlaco with a lot of Murals from recent artists and a very bohemian ambiance.
