In the 1970's I lived here with my mother, she painted and I studied the language and culture. I love to share my stories from then and now.
San Miguel is a vibrant artists colony filled with historical monuments, galleries, and restaurants. Many of the locals run their shops and business from their homes.

On this tour I can show you some of the public areas where women wash their clothes, walk through the park where local artists display their work. There are two open air markets not to mention the numerous vegetable and flower stands all over town.

Guanajuato is one of the most amazing cities in Mexico. In the 16th century, people came to this region after the silver and gold mines were discovered.

In this city, you'll enjoy watching the architecture from the colonial period and the 19th century. We can also visit one of the old mines to have a better comprehension of how it was in the old times.

Besides those places, we can visit one of the museums, where we'll learn about the history and culture of this region. One of the highlights is the Diego Rivera Museum, which is located in the house where this famous artist was born at the end of the 19th century. They have an extraordinary collection of some of his paintings.

San Miguel de Allende is a colonial town with a special atmosphere. This city was founded in the 16th. Century, and was a very important step city on the road to the mining towns of Guanajuato and Zacatecas. I really enjoy walking through the streets of San Miguel, where you can loose yourself for hours.

This unique place of Mexico was declared in 2008 as World Heritage Site by UNESCO along with the town of Atotonilco, which has a church known as the Sistine Chapel of Mexico due to the marvelous murals that has inside.

The town of Dolores Hidalgo is considered as the place where the Mexican War of Independence started in 1810. We'll see the astonishing churc of Dolores, the charming square and the local market where you can see fresch products that local farmers are offering.

The Independence war had its beginnings here, and we'll visit one of the houses where the conspirators had their meetings to plan a war against the Spanish Kingdom.
See the place where Maximilian's the First (the emperor that came from Austria)court martial took place, sentenced to the death penalty by firing squad with his loyal general, Miguel Miramon and Tomas Mejia. They were executed in Cerro de las Campanas, a place that we will see during our tour.
You can decide between the visit to the Regional Museum or the Art Museum, both located in former convents, that belonged to the Catholic Church. And we'll also visit the Convent of La Cruz.
