From Banderas Bay, Puerto Las Peñas, to modern-day Puerto Vallarta, we will take a journey across all the must-see highlights, as I fill in the context behind their origins, and share the colourful stories that made them, from the dark, the funny, and the extraordinary. Puerto Vallarta became the darling city of Hollywood superstar Elizabeth Taylor, which left her mark on the city, a love affair that ended up in divorce, both on her partner and the city, great stories that made Puerto Vallarta what it is today! We will explore the origins of Mexico since the time of the Aztecs, from the heritage of the Day of the Dead to the use of Corn and Chocolate worldwide, and how has Mexico contributed to the planet. I'll help you understanding the role of local artists here, from Manuel Lepe to Sergio Bustamante, which built a sense of identity for Vallarta. We will also taste some local food as I go into its backstory with you, like the tale behind the tortilla, corn, locally made candies, chocolate & tamales!
Pick up wherever you are! -Start with a Mexican village, discussing the origins of Puerto Vallarta and some of the best stories that made the city, the good, the bad, and the ugly. -Next, we will drive to The Local Cemetery where I'll unveil local stories and tell you the origins of the Day of the Dead! -After, we will go to the heart of Vallarta, specifically along The Malecon, which is virtually a walking art & history museum. -While we are there, we will visit the Museum of Chocolate and some art stores. -Afterwards, we'll head towards Cuale Island which has a lot to offer, where we'll visit some artisan markets for shopping opportunity. -Later, we'll visit the Romantic Zone and its vibrant community, stopping for lunch by the beach. -We'll then move on to the Gringo Gulch area, where we'll learn the stories behind the legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor and her romance with our city. - At last, I'll drive you back to your drop-off point.
