Overview of your Puebla tour:

I’ll make you discover Puebla's cuisine, a 16th century art declared UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity due to its sophisticated mix of pre-Hispanic, Oriental & European elements. On the way we’ll explore the highlights and hidden gems of Puebla, founded in 1531. In the 1635 Parque del Carmen, you’ll taste the “Chalupas”, invented in 1862. These delicacies saved Puebla from famine during the 19th century wars. Near the cathedral, you’ll savor a “Molote” in a 1920 tiny restaurant. This is Puebla's oldest street food, based on the pre-Hispanic “mollitli”, boiled corn dough filled with beans. We’ll enter a typical 65 year old cantina, a traditional bar that is also a cultural forum and an entertainment venue. This is the cradle of the emblematic “Sangria”. You’ll taste ‘Tacos arabes’". Finally we’ll go to the oldest market of the city, El Parian where you can find typical handicrafts and Talavera, the emblematic ceramics of Puebla. You’ll savor the best "Esquites" of the city since 1945.

Your Puebla tour itinerary

-Meeting at the Zocalo of Puebla -Stroll down the Parque del Carmen, one of the oldest parks in Puebla, to taste the “Chalupas”, a typical dish of Puebla's nights with the colors of Mexico’s flag. -Tasting of “Molotes” before the Cathedral. In the 16th century, the Spaniards transformed the pre-Hispanic “mollotli” into an empanada style dish filled with traditional stews. -Visit of a 65 year old cantina, that was the favorite cantina of musicians, poets and philosophers. Tasting of the “Sangria” drink accompanied with “Tacos arabes”, not to be confused with the tacos al pastor from Mexico City. Tacos arabes were born in Puebla from Arab origin. -Visit of the oldest market of the city, El Parian, and the Barrio del Artista (Artists’s Quarter) to savor "Esquites". Of pre-Hispanic origin, esquites are boiled corn seasoned with epazote and chili, served with mayonnaise, cheese and lime.
