Let's walk through Mérida together, exploring its colonial history through its architectural and cultural heritage, as well as embracing local gastronomy and art. On this tour, we'll visit places with huge historical relevance, such as the Plaza Grande and its surroundings, and the Church of Jesus, which presents colonial architecture. In addition to the historic centre, we'll see the the Municipal Market and the imposing Peón Contreras Theater (the city's most important one), which has the significance of being where the first Feminist Congress took place. We'll see the Autonomous University of Yucatan too, a beautiful building which presents more contemporary architecture; in contrast with other edifices in Paseo Montejo, such as the twin houses & the Montes Molina House which display XX Century Mérida architecture. We'll also visit the Santa Lucia and Santa Ana's parks, two of the nicest of the city, where contemporary yucatecan lifestyle is at full display. *This tour can be done in French.
