Guadalajara Tonalá City: Artisan Experience - Walking Tour

Tonalá is the city where the Spanish colonizers made their first stop to attempt the foundation of Guadalajara, but they found it much more challenging than they thought, since they had to go on a big fight with an agressive indigenous group wich made them reconsider. They actually lost the battle against the fearless Tonaltecas (tastoanes warriors). Tonalá is now mainly known for its artisan house-factories that keep the magic and the traditions alive, generation to generation. On Thursdays and Sundays the local artisans put their art on display, to show and sell on a big artisan market where you can find clayart, furniture, souvenirs, decorations, traditional clothes, accesories and even traditional foods, candies and beverages along the way. Come with me to know what the artisans do with their own hands, embracing the creativity and culture that you can atest to in the market.
