Magical Atlixco: City of Flowers, Volcano and Mysterious Landscapes + Photos

We’ll visit the Magical Garden of Atlixco, a botanical and artistic treasure with sculptures made of endemic flowers. You’ll discover 80% of the plants that grow in Mexico and a labyrinth. We’ll then visit the peculiar historical center of Atlixco known for its original Talavera and its 2-story kiosk. You’ll be amused by the population of squirrels. We'll reach the top of San Miguel hill. Below the chapel is hidden the pre-Hispanic Teocalli temple, "The House of the Gods", dating back to 700 AD. The legend says the hill is inhabited by the Nahuales who transform themselves into owls to steal children. Every September 29, the devil comes out the chapel but San Miguel Arcangel, the commander of the heavenly armies, defeats him. From the atrium of the chapel, you’ll get an impressive look at El Popo volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Later we’ll stop at the glass viewpoint that will make you feel like a bird over the city. A pro photographer will take pictures of you all day long.
