You will have the opportunity to visit three of the most famous World Heritage Sites in Malta just in 5 hours. Travelling between stops will be by minibus and we will have moderate walks at the sites.

This tour will take you around the island of Malta, where we will not only visit the Capital City Valletta, but also the Silent City of Mdina, visit Hagar Qim megalithic temples, and the south of the island.

Starting off from the capital city Valletta, we will stroll the streets, admiring churches, squares and palaces, with a recommended entrance of St. John's Cathedral before proceeding towards Mdina, the little gem where various movies where shot. A small walk within the city and optional pastizzi tasting (local speciality) will bring our morning to an end.
We will then continue our visit to Hagar Qim Temples, Unesco site, that testifies Malta's prehistoric past and Marsaxlokk, an idyllic fishing village where you will have free time to indulge in a delicious fish lunch or enjoy the small souvenir market along the quay.
A photo stop at Blue Grotto and boat ride, may be included, time permitting.

Valletta has been Malta's new de facto capital city since its inception in the 1560s. It is primarily the legacy of the Knights Hospitaller with a few later buildings, some of which still bear scars of WWll.

Valletta is one kilometre long with streets intersecting in a grid pattern. The upper part contains most of the shops, museums and administrative buildings, while the lower third is almost all residential. Maltese architecture is a mixture of styles, the earliest being austere while the Baroque buildings exude pomp and beauty.

At the end of the tour, you may stay on shopping or for solo sightseeing in the City and make your own way to the ship.

Site entrances are not included and some official buildings or churches might close due to official services.

Valletta, the island's capital, was built following the Great Siege victory in 1565 and a grateful Christendom sent support to build its awe-inspiring bastions, auberges where the Order conducted business and lavishly decorated churches. Not wishing to be considered a forgotten backwater, most of the buildings were embellished with magnificent baroque facades sending out a message of wealth and power.

The islands were taken by Napoleon and Valletta was occupied by the French until Malta became one of the seats of the British Empire. They ruled Malta for close to 200 years up to our independence in 1964. This rich history of the Valletta peninsula is enhanced by the harbours that surround it and played their important role in the story of this city and island.

The tour would include a breath-taking view of the Grand Harbour, the numerous 16th to 18th century buildings that are now part of our island's living history and the splendid St John's Co-Cathedral.
