Malaysia's first intelligent garden city, Putrajaya is the trendy and futuristic location for the country's central government. True to the status it enjoys as a "garden city", Putrajaya has a large number of well-maintained urban parks. There's the Putrajaya Botanical Garden, which features over 700 types of tropical plants and trees; Taman Wawasan, which boasts nicely laid out bicycle and jogging paths, as well as the Agricultural Heritage Park, where you will find traditional Malaysian crops such as rubber, palm oil, cocoa, herbs and spices. Prior to being the Garden City, Putrajaya was known as Perang Besar, meaning The Great War. This is the story of Air Hitam, a bleak piece of backwater (blackwater, heh). After the First World War aka The Great War, the British gave the land to some soldiers as recognition for their services.
