On this tour, you'll get to experience first hand the handwriting of Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy) very easily! I have a special, kind of magical sheet for a calligraphy lesson, so you're able to give our calligraphy a try with no prior preparation. I'll be sure to give you some tips to writing beautiful Chinese Kanji characters! For the Japanese, calligraphy is an art form that has been passed down from generation to generation since ancient times. It is still taught in elementary school classes. So why not personally experience the long history of calligraphy as a commemoration of your visit to Japan? The place where this calligraphy will be carried out is also my hometown. To get here, we'll have to take one of the only two streetcars in the entirety of Tokyo. If you have come all the way to Tokyo, I hope you agree on taking this tram ride towards a valuable cultural experience!
-Once we've met in the morning at Sangenjaya Station (which is around 30 minutes from the famous Shibuya Station), we'll take a tram train to our main destination, at Miyanosaka Station. -We'll then step off the tram and head to the venue of handwriting calligraphy experience, which is located at the central Setagaya Ward. -Once we're there, you'll get to enjoy the world of Chinese Kanji Characters and Hiragana with all your might, practising water brush calligraphy. -As I talk about the charm of Chinese Kanji Characters, I'll be able to make a simple handwriting diagnosis with you. -After the experience, we'll get to enjoy lunch in a recommended local venue. -Once we've had lunch, we'll visit the nearest and most important historical religious sites around: Shinto Shrine and Buddhist Temple. -After the temple visits, we'll see a retired tram exhibition. -At last, we'll return to Sangenjaya Station for the end of the tour.
