Itsukushima (or Miyajima) is one of the three scenic locations in Japan. It is a World Heritage island that has been worshiped as a sacred island since ancient times. In Miyajima, you can find a unique culture created by a synthesis of Buddhism and Shintoism by combining the two religions.

The Atomic Bomb Dome:
It is a symbol of world peace and hope for the total abolition of nuclear weapons. It is located in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. We will visit the Atomic Bomb Dome, Hypocenter, some memorial monuments, and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

Afterward, we'll return to Central Hiroshima to learn about its modern history with a tour of Peace Memorial Park and its monuments and museums including the Atomic Bomb Dome; however, if desired, I am happy to discuss customising your tour to include other attractions in my town.

Our destination includes two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Hiroshima: the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Itsukushima Shrine.

The dome is situated in the city center at the Peace Memorial Park, while the shrine is located on Miyajima Island, approximately one hour away from the city.

Although they're quite far apart, the journey itself offers some interesting options, such as taking a small cargo boat along the river and inland sea, or riding a tram to immerse oneself in the local atmosphere.

On Miyajima Island, we'll explore historical shrines and temples while enjoying Hiroshima's local food.

In the Peace Memorial Park, we'll visit the Peace Memorial Museum and some memorial monuments.

This tour is specifically designed for first-time visitors to Hiroshima, aiming to provide insights into peace and Japanese history.

Miyajima Island consists mostly of steep, wooded hills, and is ranked as one of the three most scenic spots in the country. Its famous landmark, the huge red Torii Gate, at high tide, rises up out of the water and guards the island's main attraction, the Itsukushima Shrine and Daishoin.

The Atomic Bomb Dome, the skeletal remains of the former Industrial Promotion Hall, serves as a visual reminder of the death and destruction of the atom bomb, and is the only blast survivor left in ruins.

Afterward, visit the Peace Memorial Park, National Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims(including watching a short film), and Peace Museum.
