There are many international tourists who return home unaware of Sakai, which is located next to the metropolis of Osaka. But in fact, historically this place has been known to the world as an important region since ancient times. Even today, ancient burial mounds appear out of nowhere in the city, the culture of the tea ceremony, which began in the Warring States period, has taken root, and the technology that used to make guns is now being used to make cutlery and bicycles. Let's explore this unique Sakai town together!
The tour begins with a tram called the Hankai Tram from Tennoji Station. On the way you will pass the famous Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine, the oldest and largest shrine in Osaka. Then, explore historic old gun production sites, temples and Edo period mansions. If you wish, you can also experience a tea ceremony and stop at a famous Japanese confectionary shop. There is also a museum (optional) displaying a variety of bicycles. End of the tour in Sakai
