We'll walk through both the old and the new, the vibrant and even underprivileged part of Osaka in this tour. I'll try to help you to understand the contemporary issues of Japanese society. You will get to know Japan on this tour. We'll attend a Buddhist ceremony at Shiten'noji Temple in the morning. Then, we head for Isshinji Temple, famous for Buddhist statues, made out of the cremated remains of individuals. Then, we can also stop at a small temple showing two large pieces of the Berlin Wall. We'll go up to the 16th floor of Abeno Harukas, the tallest building in Japan, to see the view of present-day Osaka from above. Afterwards, we'll walk down the hill to Shin Sekai, one of the most eccentric areas of Osaka. This is the area where a lot of day labourers and homeless people spend their day. (Please understand that there are some areas you cannot take photos in. ) This tour might just change your views about Japan.
SAMPLE TIMETABLE FOR THE TOUR 10:00 Meeting you at your hotel or at your cruise ship 11:00 Attending a Buddhist Ceremony at Shiten'noji Temple 11:30 Isshinji and Tokokuji Temple 12:30 Exploring Abeno Harukas and Department Store Food Floor 14:00 Walking down to Shin Sekai and stopping at kushikatsu or okonomiyaki restaurants 16:00 Tour ends in Shin Sekai, or I can take you back to your hotel, or to your ship. I could also drop you off at Spa World, a huge, hot spring. OPTIONS - The following involve extra cost. - We can also go up to the top, the 60th floor of Abeno Harukasu, but I would have to ask you to pay for the admission fees. - Namba Yasaka Shrine - Kuromon Fish Market, Anime St. , Doguya-suji Kitchenware St. , and Dotombori, Osaka's most distinctive shopping area - Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, the biggest temple in Osaka - Tenjimbashi-suji, the longest roofed shopping arcade in Japan - Umeda Sky Building and JR Osaka Station

This is a walking tour, and we will generally be walking all the way. We will walk some distance, so if you have problems with walking, please let me know in advance. But we need to use the subway to Shinten'noji. So you may want to purchase ONE DAY TRAVEL CARD for subways and buses. It will cost ￥820 during the weekdays and ￥620 for weekends. Great Value.
