This is one of the most popular tour plans in my list. People love this tour, probably for its advantages, i. e. optimizing their limited time to visit Kyoto, and sharing the information with each other during the transit. Especially, travelers can organize themselves before the tour while on board, to assemble up to 5 tourists for minimizing the tour costs. With this tour, you may discover the core of Kyoto, i. e. visiting original Shogun villas, i. e. 400 years old Nijo castle, with national treasures and beautiful gardens. At Golden Pavilion, another Shogun villa, you can enjoy a magnificent reflection of golden shape on the pond. At Ryoanji temple, you have the dry rock garden, as Queen Elizabeth enjoyed at her visit 47 years ago. On our way back, we drop by at Gion, where you may see Geisha walking on the street. For the last visit we drop by at Fushimi-inari shrine. Though this itinerary is suggested, I can customize them along with your requests, within the time frame of 9.5 hours.
- Meet at the cruise ship terminal in Osaka harbour at 8:00 am - Leaving the pier by a specially arranged private van (jumbo taxi) with 9 passengers seats (including mine) for 9 hours ride (including 2 hours round trip from Osaka to Kyoto) we arrive Kyoto around 9:00 am. During the transit, you can have a Q & A time with me for whatever question on Japan or the tour - At Nijo castle, we walk in the national treasured palace. (No shoes & no picture are allowed inside the palace). Enjoy strolling along the garden, stone wall and moat - At Golden Pavilion, we enjoy taking pictures of the Pavilion - At Ryoanji temple, we step in Zen temple after walking along the pond garden - Drop by at Gion district with short time walk on the street - Drop by at Fushimi-inari shrine with thousands of Torii gates. - Return to the pier at 17:30. A snack lunch can be taken during the transit in a van or a quick lunch at a local restaurant. The jumbo taxi fare is settled by paying cash to the driver at the pier when the tour ends

Transportation between the cruise ship terminal at Osaka to and from Kyoto is made by an arranged van , with 6 passenger seats, including mine. Between the parking lots to and from the facilities are on foot. The fare of a van is included in the tour price.
