Discover the Highlights of my hometown Osaka

Welcome to Osaka, my hometown! This tour starts at Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine, which marks Osaka's historical roots as a hub port of Osaka bay. At the entrance we will see a beautiful high-arched bridge, which is one of the symbols of this shrine. I remember walking up and down the steep steps of the arched bridge carefully as a child. After crossing the bridge over a pond, it will lead us to the main sanctuary of four unique main halls. After Osaka's most representative shrine, let's go to Osaka's most representative temple, Shitennoji temple. This is where three stories meet. The story of how Buddhism was born in India, the story of how a Chinese monk brought it to East Asia, and the story of a Japanese prince importing Buddhism from China to Japan. I will share those stories with paintings and in the scent of incense.
