Mt. Fuji is known worldwide as a mountain brimming with natural beauty. Besides this, Mt. Fuji has been revered as a sacred mountain since ancient times. It is the symbolic object of nature worship. The tour gives you a great opportunity to feel the essence of Mt. Fuji worship. You'll visit "Oshino Hakkai spring ponds", where the underground water of Mount Fuji is gushing out of and pilgrims used to purify themselves with its water, and "Fuji Sengen Shrine" which used to be the center of Mt. Fuji worship. The shrine with solemn atmosphere is worth visiting. These places are the cultural assets of Mt. Fuji World Cultural Heritage. In addition, you will join the "Ryurei" (table seated style) tea ceremony at a temple near "Oshino Hakkai". Through this tour, you will not only learn about a different aspect of Mt. Fuji as a sacred object, but also enjoy picturesque scenery with Mt. Fuji!
1) Meet at Kawaguchiko station and head for "Oshino Hakkai" by bus (25 min. ) 2) Join the table and chair-style tea ceremony and enjoy matcha green tea at the temple nearby. (Approx. one-hour) 3) Stroll around "Oshino Hakkai" (Approx. 60-minute walk) - Along with the lovely landscape, you could enjoy the great view of Mt. Fuji during a walk. - The highlight of the walk is a visit to Deguchi pond. In contrast to the bustling atmosphere around the central area, that place is quieter and more peaceful. 4) Have lunch at the Japanese-style restaurant serving Udon (Wheat noodles) and hand-made Soba (Buckwheat noodles) ‐ Lunch is not included in the tour price. It's optional. 5) Head for "Fuji Sengen shrine" by bus (15 min. ) and stay there for about 50min. 6) Go back to Kawaguchiko Sta. where this tour will end. This is a walking tour. We also will use public transportation (Bus) to reach Oshino Hakkai and also, Fuji Sengen shrine.
